Alison Lee is one of the few in the LPGA Tour who has a strong presence on and off the course. The diva has yet to win a title on the LPGA wing but has won in the LET at the Aramco Series in Sotogrande, Spain.

Alison’s charismatic personality and exceptional skills have garnered her loyal fans and supporters. As she ventures through her career and attempts to increase her victories, her admirers have gained interest in her personal life. The people want to know all about her parents as they nurtured such an individualistic person. Who are Alison Lee’s parents? Let’s know all about them!

Who are Alison Lee’s parents?

Sung Kim Lee and Johnny Lee got married on 11th September 1994. They welcomed their baby girl, Alison Lee, on February 26th, 1995. Alison was born in Los Angeles, California, to an immigrant family. She is the eldest of the two children in the Lee family. Alison had been playing since she was a toddler, specifically from the age of six. Her parents show her the utmost support and admiration.

Alison’s first-ever coach and mentor, when she started hitting the golf ball, was her father, Johnny Lee. Johnny taught Alison everything about the game of golf. Her love for her parents can be seen as she occasionally shares their pics on her social media handles.

Alison does not actively post much about her family yet when the time comes, you will see her penning down an earnest note in just a few words. What a sweet coincidence that Alison and Johnny share the birthday month. Moreover, there is just a three-day difference between the two. Wishing her father a happy birthday, Lee called him the ‘Appa’ in Korean in one of the posts. In another, Alison credited him for teaching her everything she knows.

Lee has a younger brother whose name she has never revealed but the siblings are 3 years apart. Alison’s mother, Sung Kim Lee, is a Korean woman with a beautiful face. Even though we do not see her often on Alison’s Instagram feed, you will have a family Christmas portrait with her always cheerful ‘Omma’. Alison has made it an annual ritual to celebrate Christmas and Thanksgiving with her family, although sometimes her plans get diverted because of her busy schedule.

The proudest Alison made her parents

The family of four is always cheering for the golfer. Alison came close to grabbing her maiden LPGA victory last week at the BMW Ladies Championship in her parent’s home, in Korea. However, she lost to Minjee Lee in the playoffs and the trophy was lifted by a different Lee. Alison has kept much of her personal life protected and out of the public’s eye. Minjee Lee and her brother are totally different in that regard.

The 28-year-old has just now won her second LET victory in the Aramco Team Series. She had her first one in Sotogrande and second in Riyadh. Alison made history with her two rounds, as she smashed the lowest two-round score in the history of the Ladies European Tour with 22 under. The subsequent finish should make her parents proud.

Alison’s astonishing career could not have been this way if not for her parents. Even though they came from a foreign country and went through struggles to support their family, Alison was always the priority. Starting her career as an amateur, Alison won nine titles between 2008 and 2013. In the Amateur Golf Ranking, she was leading the board for 16 consecutive weeks. She then made her debut on the LPGA Tour in 2014. Although no victories till now, Alison is working hard every day to grab her maiden victory in the LPGA Tour.

Alison has made her parents proud day by day. She has participated in the Junior Solheim Cup and the Ryder Cup, winning thrice for the nation at the Solheim Cup. Her career is inspiring and empowering for thousands of women. In the coming years, we hope to see Alison Lee carve her name in LPGA Tour history too, and end her winless streak.
